Which Airsoft Gun Is Best For You?

The purpose of this article is to explain the various types of air guns available and enable you to make informed decisions. Air guns come in various forms, such as target and hunting types, as well as different caliber and weight for pellets. Deciding on what you intend to use the air gun for will help you in making the decision on what type of air gun to purchase.

Target air guns are precision guns that are used specifically for target shooting. These only require enough energy to speed a .177 caliber pellet through the air. The speed is able to be lower; however, the accuracy must be extremely high. With target air guns, repeatability of the power ensures high quality. The function should be as smooth as possible to keep concentration accurate and pellet insertion should be easy.
Hunting air rifles should provide reasonable accuracy and be able to transfer three to five times as much energy as target air guns. The hunting rifle pellet energy should, at the very least, be as high as the distance of the target, as target air guns are at the muzzle.

C02 or pre-charged air guns help eliminate re-cocking, thus providing for a smoother shooting process. Choosing pellets for an air gun again depends on the purpose in which you intend to use it. The different types of caliber available for air guns include .177, .20, .22, and .25 calibers. In order to determine the best type of pellet for your air gun you should experiment with the various combinations until you are satisfied with the intended results.

The speed of a pellet varies with the weight of a pellet. The heaver a pellet is the slower the speed and vice versa. Additionally, air resistance determines speed as well. There are various different types of pellets such as wad cutters, which are specific for target shooting and required in competitions. Round nose pellets and crow magnum hollow heads are used for hunting. They are heavier in weight and penetrate deeper. Crow magnums are great because they actually expand creating a larger hole as it enters the target, good for game such as rabbits and woodchucks.

The accuracy of pellet guns are determined by three major factors – the crown, uniformity and wind. The crown is essentially the barrel lip, it is said that the crown should give the same exact surface to the spinning tail of a pellet. This will prevent a wobble from the 1000 pellet being tipped one way or the other.

Uniformity is the spinning of the pellet. The pellet must be balanced as it spins otherwise even the slightest unbalanced pellet will cause a pellet to veer off course the minute it leaves the barrel. Wind deflects the pellets; this is usually dependant upon the weight of the pellet.

In closure, your choice of air gun will greatly depend on the function you would like it to perform. For target practice or competitions, a target air gun is the proper choice for you. For hunting game, you will require different accuracy and energy for different prey. The best advice is that you purchase several different types of pellets and practice shooting these for the accuracy and behavior within your own personal air gun. One expert suggests shooting pellets into a bar of soap at various field ranges to determine how well the different pellets penetrate and expand in hunting. The personal testing will help you select the right type of pellet for your usage.

It seems that many people have trouble deciding whether they want to buy a single shot bolt action airsoft sniper rifle, or an electric (AEG) semi/fully automatic airsoft rifle, such as the popular airsoft M4 Rifle. This sometimes can be a tough decision to make, but it usually boils down to this: what type of airsoft scenarios will you be using the gun for, for the most part? Of course, there is also the price to consider, but generally speaking, the cost of a good airsoft sniper rifle is usually about the same as the cost of a good airsoft M4 rifle, so this really shouldn’t be much of a factor.

For those who mostly compete in QCB (close quarters battle) airsoft games, then the choice is simple: get yourself a good airsoft M4 rifle (or similar – such as an airsoft M16 or an airsoft AK-47 rifle). The reason for this is because you will need the airsoft rifle to be capable of firing in fully automatic mode, which NO true airsoft sniper gun can do. Fully automatic airsoft rifles are without a doubt, the king of close quarters battles. Also, another plus to an automatic electric airsoft rifle is the fact that not only is it a fully automatic weapon, it can also be used in semi automatic mode as well, which makes it fairly good for sniping people from a fair distance away (you definitely wont get the range of a true airsoft sniper rifle though).

As far as those who like to use the art of stealth, and that like playing the sniper role (we are talking non-cqb airsoft scenarios here), then the choice is also very simple: buy yourself a true airsoft sniper rifle. The main reason that you will want a true sniper gun is because of the fact that they shoot much further than any automatic electric AEG airsoft rifle, and they are more accurate as well. Also, another thing to consider is the fact that airsoft sniper rifles are way more quiet than automatic electric airsoft rifles.

When deciding on which airsoft sniper rifle to buy, keep in mind that you will want one that is high velocity, and that comes with a decent scope. Another option that you may want to consider is getting a tri-pod for your airsoft sniper rifle, but that isn’t as importing as having a good scope on it. Lastly, you may want to also purchase a sling for your sniper rifle, as this can really make carrying the gun alot easier, and will save your arms from getting tired when carrying the gun around.

Hopefully this information will help those who are debating whether they want a single shot bolt action (true) airsoft sniper rifle, or an automatic electric (AEG) airsoft Rifle, such as the extremely popular airsoft M4 machine gun. But regardless of what type of gun you choose to go with, I would highly recommend that you at least get one that is of medium quality (IE: not made completely out of plastic), and that has good velocity and accuracy.

Women’s soccer never would have been the same if Mia Hamm hadn’t started up soccer when she was little. She had such an impact on women’s soccer that she is often thought to mean as much for it as Pele or Cruyff meant for men’s soccer. But before being a great soccer player and athlete that broke down almost every possible record at her level, Mia Hamm is a great person and I’d like you to meet the human behind the soccer god in this Mia Hamm biography.

If you’re like me, you’re probably wondering how and when did Mia Hamm start playing soccer and what events drove her to become a super star of women’s soccer. Mia Hamm’s childhood circled around sports and athleticism and as her brother recalled, she was faster and more athletic than most of the boys on the block, so she was able to play competitively with and against them.

After taking up youth soccer training at her school’s football team when she was only 12 years old, she learned the basics of soccer and started enjoying the sport more and more. Little did she know that three years later, when she was just 15, she would be called up for the United States national women’s soccer team, becoming the youngest player ever to play for her country at that level (one of her first broken records).

That was kind of a weird situation, since Mia Hamm was a soccer player for her national squad but didn’t have a fully professional playing contract with a club. But after seeing her performances, the North Carolina Tar Heels quickly signed her and they made quite a deal, since Mia Hamm stayed with the club for 4 seasons, scoring over 100 goals during her time here.

Probably one of Mia Hamm’s most important accomplishments is that she managed to bring women’s soccer to a level close to what men are playing. She is one of the two women named in Pele’s “List of 125 Best Soccer Players of All Times” and she is a symbol of women’s sports throughout the World.

She also holds two FIFA World Player of the Year awards, which she got in 2001 (the first year the trophy was given) and 2002. Unfortunately, she would have gotten a lot more of these awards, but with the World Player of the Year awards being granted for women when Mia Hamm was already nearing the end of her career, she didn’t really have a chance to widen her trophy room.

In numbers, Mia Hamm was the United States top goal scorer, with 158 goals in 275 matches, a remarkable record that will probably dust and rust before it is beaten. She scored more goals than any man or woman for her national team, although many soccer specialists will agree that the level of women’s soccer is still in an early grade and cannot be compared to men’s soccer yet.

She won the Women’s World Cup twice, in 1991 and 1999 and also put the US national team through a Gold Medal at the Olympic Games in 1996. All these titles, records and awards make Mia Hamm one of the most important players in women’s soccer and the fact that Pele considered to put her on the same list as legendary male players such as Maradona, Cruyff, Platini or Beckenbauer says a lot about the influence she had in the game.

Airsoft: Toys For The Big Boys

In this day and age, simulation games are all about realism. And they can’t get any more real than airsoft. They say that boys will always have their toys and that the only difference will be the price. That can never be truer than in this era, where with enough money, you can make almost any boyhood fantasy come true. From customized cars, giant speakers, life size remote control contraptions, there are always toys for the big boys.

A new trend now is for sheer realism. In an age where simulation games must come as close to reality as possible, Realism is the key to getting the audience, and none can come close to modern war games waged with airsoft guns. Airsoft guns are the evolution of the classic BB guns of the early 80’s. They were originally created in Japan during the 1980’s because of Gun control laws in the country prohibiting the use of actual firearms. These guns became a hit and indulged companies to go for even more realism. Eventually the spring mechanics of BB guns were replaced with pressurized gas to give it a more accurate aim. Eventually this was also upgraded into the first electric airsoft guns.

The dawn of airsoft electric guns signaled a rebirth in many men’s childhood dreams of cowboys and Indians and soldier boy. But this time, it is more realistic. Presently, Airsoft guns are so realistic, even professionals can have a hard time deciphering your Airsoft Machine Guns from the real thing. Airsoft offers you a view into a world that all boys wished to be at one point or another. And that is in combat. We grew up with Rambo and the Terminator and with airsoft you could recreate that action sequence that has been playing through your head ever since the third grade.

The game has now evolved into a much more serious sport that requires dedicated training to using your rifle as much as any soldier would. You can also specialize in a particular type of weapon from the Airsoft Machine Guns to the airsoft sniper rifles. And specialize in a specific strategy for each. And who says that it won’t be effective in actual combat? Some ex marines pick up airsoft guns as a hobby and others also teach different strategies that they learn during boot camp.

Airsoft guns are not only realistic, they are for real. One of the great things here also are its customizable features. With a 1000 little bit of knowledge on airsoft gun mechanics, you can customize firearms into what fits your style of combat. Imagine the show Pimp my Ride but instead of “pimping” a car, you pimp your guns.

Another great thing is that having a gun is just one part of airsoft. This is because you’ve got to have your own gear too. Imagine suiting up like a counter terrorist on a mission somewhere deep in the jungle. You’ve got to be prepared. And the same goes for airsoft. Airsoft guns are real nice to look at, the feeling is real and the pain is real to, so don’t forget to bring an extra Bandaid or two.

Unity in Sports
by: John Kortex

Sports have been bringing people from all over the world together since the first Olympics in Greece many years ago. Sports bring people a since of accomplishment but more importantly, unity.

When playing a sport, whether it is with multiple people or by yourself, you have to be able to communicate with team members and coaches. If you are playing the sport by yourself, chances are you have a coach there at your side somewhere. Communication is extremely important when it comes to unity. It allows you to tell your other players or coach what is going on in a particular game situation in order to play as the game well.

In a team setting, you know your team is unified when there is trust on the field or court. You have to be able to trust your teammate will make the important catch to get you the first down or trust in your teammate to score the winning basket to win the championship. Sometimes you get the important super star on your team yet your team cannot win. It is because his/her players cannot communicate with him/her and therefore they cannot trust him. This team lost the game before they ever started because without trust talent means nothing. Trust brings unity and is the key to winning games.

Additionally, sports have created unity amongst small towns, big cities, and nations all over the world. When certain events such as the Olympics or the World Cup are played people will gather at the event, in a bar or at a friend’s house draped in their nation’s flag or wearing their favorite team’s colors. Without unity sports wouldn’t be any fun and no one would play them.

The Airsoft UTG Type 96 sniper is one of the many airsoft sniper rifles that offers exceptional firepower and performance. This is a bolt action rifle that fires the ammunition at a fast 480 feet per second. It incorporates an adjustable hop-up system which allows the sniper greater control over the speed and trajectory of the ammunition.

Many airsoft sniper rifles have a precision metal barrel, and the UTG Type 96 is no exception. This will give the shooter years of reliable performance. With the metal barrel though, it will be necessary to keep the barrel cleaned and rust free. Always be sure to wipe down the barrel and any other metal components with any gun oil that you would use with any real firearm after each and every venture into the field of battle.

Airsoft sniper rifles allow the shooter to dial in on their target, especially if the gun is fitted with a high quality scope. The UTG Type 96 incorporates a Leapers UTG Tactedge 4×40 scope that is fitted on a full size Weaver scope mount.

The UTG Type 96 sniper rifle has an army digital pattern embossed onto the stock giving this gun a very realistic look. It comes with two 23 round magazines, giving the shooter plenty of ammunition to fire at their opponent. As with most airsoft sniper rifles, the Type 96 is a spring powered gun which produces excellent firing power. Each time that the bolt action is pulled back, a BB is brought up from the magazine and is ready to be fired. This action also readies the spring for firing.

Airsoft sniper rifles are quickly becoming the gun of choice for many experienced airsoft enthusiasts, and have their own respected place in the great sport of airsoft.

Firing System</strong><br /> <br /> The first thing you should take into consideration when purchasing an airsoft sniper rifle is what firing system it uses.&nbsp; This is important because there are three different types of firing systems commonly used by airsoft guns.&nbsp; The first is the spring powered system.&nbsp; This system is commonly used in sniper rifles because it reliably delivers both a fast muzzle velocity and a manner of stealth due to its quiet operation.&nbsp; On the down side, this system requires that the sniper re-cock the weapon to engage the spring before firing every round, resulting in a low rate of fire.&nbsp; Another system commonly used is powered by some type of compressed gas.&nbsp; Gas powered sniper rifles often deliver very high muzzle velocities in the area of 400-500fps and have a higher rate of fire when compared to spring powered systems, but sacrifice the quiet that spring rifles are blessed with.&nbsp; They also require the sniper to carry some form of gas propellant such as CO2 cartridges which need to be replaced after a certain number of shots; this reliance on gas pressure to fire also results in a decreased shot consistency.&nbsp; The last commonly used system is the electric powered system.&nbsp; Electric powered systems have the advantage of a very high rate of fire because the reloading and firing process is automatically done by the firing mechanism and can often be used in roles similar to assault rifles.&nbsp; The downside to electric powered rifles is that they are not as quiet as spring powered weapons and they generally cost more in order to achieve muzzle velocities similar to other systems.&nbsp; Each airsoft sniper has to way the pros and cons and decide based off of that conclusion.&nbsp;&nbsp;<br /> <br /> <strong>2. Muzzle Velocity</strong><br /> <br /> Muzzle velocity is very important in airsoft sniper rifles because it often results in an increased accuracy and shorter flight time to the target.&nbsp; An airsoft rifle that is intended to be used as a sniper rifle should fire at a minimum of 350 feet per second, and higher muzzle velocities will offer more advantages.&nbsp; The best muzzle velocities are usually found in spring or gas powered systems, but electronic systems are capable of producing comparable speeds.&nbsp; It is often necessary to upgrade spring powered rifles with better springs in order to get the full benefit of a high muzzle velocity.&nbsp;&nbsp;<br /> <br /> <strong>3. Portability</strong><br /> <br /> Portability should be considered when buying a sniper rifle for a few different reasons.&nbsp; The most important of these is that a highly portable rifle will allow the airsoft sniper to quickly and covertly move to a secure firing position.&nbsp; Another advantage that portable rifles have is that they generally weigh less and are easier to handle than bulkier sniper rifles.&nbsp; This decrease in weight and advanced handling allow the sniper to track and neutralize targets quicker than with other weapon systems and also gives an added measure of security when it comes to self-defense.<br /> <br /> <strong>4. Magazine Capacity</strong><br /> <br /> Although magazine capacity can be supplemented by carrying extra ammo or magazines, no one can deny that it is advantageous to have a few extra shots in the magazine.&nbsp; Five or ten shots won&rsquo;t seem like much on the target range, or even when firing from a secure position, but when compromised on the battlefield and under attack, those few extra rounds in the magazine can make the difference between going down in a hail of plastic pellets and carrying the day.&nbsp; A magazine size of 20 shots will suffice, although 30 or more is preferred.<br /> <br /> <strong>5. Accessory Capable</strong><br /> <br /> When purchasing an airsoft sniper rifle it is very important to consider things such as sight rails and accessory rails.&nbsp; No sniper rifle is complete without a scope, and attachments such as laser sights or bipods can make a world of difference.&nbsp; You should check to make sure that any rifle you consider purchasing has a sight rail or, at the bare minimum, a place where a sight rail can be attached.&nbsp; That piece of hardware is one of the most important items to look for on a weapon, so make sure that it is high quality.<br /> <br /> <strong>The Ideal Rifle</strong><br /> <br /> The ideal sniper rifle is lightweight and portable, has a reliable firing system that fits your needs, a respectable muzzle velocity and magazine capacity, and has plenty of room to expand and customize.&nbsp; You should consider all of these things when buying your airsoft sniper rifle; without these, your weapon is just a normal airsoft rifle.&nbsp; You can find more information on airsoft sniping at <a title=”airsocom.com a retail store for airsoft sniper rifles” href=”http://www.airsocom.com”>www.airsocom.com</a>, as well as a few top of the line sniper rifles and accessories, such as ghillie suits.&nbsp;&nbsp;<br /> <br /> -Michael Ariza<br /> <br /></p>

Close Quarters Combat In Airsoft

CQC is a military tactic that makes use of proximity to defeat the enemy. This article discusses the possible application to airsoft games.

If you’ve ever played a game of metal gear, you will know what I’m talking about. One man being able to take out an entire army, defeat the main guy and get the girl. (Okay so that sounds just like any other videogame around the world). But what if the game play was presented in such a way that with proper training, you too would be able to accomplish the feat? And it gets even trickier. In the game, you can even accomplish the feat using nothing but a pistol! This game got me thinking. Can you apply this theory to actual airsoft games?

Sure being able to wield out your 8 inch airsoft machine guns would be a cool sight to see. But being able to take your opponent out with a side arm exemplifies true skill. There are many advantages of using the sidearm over Airsoft machine guns. And these advantages can be in their proximity. CQC or close quarters combat is a technique popularized by Russian and Israeli soldiers which is used in the event that your battle will end up in close quarters.

There can be a psychological battle that you can wage with your pistol as compared to the opponents airsoft machine guns. One would be as your distance between you and your opponent decreases, your advantage with a handgun increases. If you are able to isolate the maneuverability of his primary weapon, which are usually the airsoft machine guns, you will be at a better advantage of taking him down with the pistol. Many people in airsoft need to be far away in order for them to be in their comfort zone. Being able to fire airsoft machine guns at close range would be quite difficult for someone who has little to no experience in close quarters combat.

Now I’m not saying that the use of a pistol will outdo airsoft machine guns and airsoft sniper rifles every time. All I’m saying is that it is an option that hasn’t been explored that much in the realm of airsoft. Imagine being able to take out a horde of troops holding just your pistol against their airsoft machine guns and airsoft sniper rifles.

Close quarters combat, I believe is a skill that can be developed. And if you do develop it, any person you encounter who doesn’t have this skill will probably give in 1000 to pressure and choke. Think of the scenario of a bull homing in on you and he’s getting real close real fast. Many would usually lose control and get careless. That’s the same theory with trying to rush up close to your opponent.
If this skill ever does surface in airsoft games, it would be something new to add in terms of strategy and technique. Not to mention the number of BB pellets you would save.

As the Sport of Airsoft grows in popularity today, many enthusiasts of both the Sport of Airsoft and the Sport of Paintball have debated over the differences and similarities, in the comparisons of both sports. Questions eventually come to the following: Which sport is better? What sport is more cost effective? What is the difference between Airsoft guns and Paintball guns? Finally, which sport is geared toward a larger demographic of people? I will briefly examine both sides of the Airsoft and Paintball argument and hopefully come to an opinion on which sport is emerging and which sport is fading out.

The initial argument between the Sport of Airsoft and the Sport of Paintball has been the cost differences between each sport. However, if you take a closer look at the costs for each sport you will find that both sports have an initial investment. For both sports, if you want to get completely decked out in every form of equipment available you are looking to spend up into the hundreds of dollars and sometimes into the thousands. There are variations in the pricing, but let’s say you use tons of ammo in Airsoft and not so much (which I think is unlikely) in Paintball then you will spend more on ammo for Airsoft (again this is very unlikely). This money can be spent over a period of time if you are not seriously trying to compete in the sports.

Most people continue to talk about the costs and how one sport is cheaper than the other but it depends on what you want and what you are looking for in each sport that will actually determine what you will spend. This includes everything from the gun, equipment and ammo, to the upgrades. In other words, either sport can be relatively cheap or relatively expensive, it all depends on you.

So if the money is not so important (well it’s important to most, and trust me I am all about getting the best for my money) what are the differences between the sports that one can draw a clear contrast about? What makes one sport different from the other? One of the major differences are the guns for each sport.

All Paintball guns, also known as “Markers,” have a similar style and look, only varying in specifications rather than in styles. There’s not much more to the variations except the quality and effectiveness of the Paintball guns. There is hardly any diversity or character when it comes to each gun simply because they are made to specifications.

Airsoft guns have 1:1 scale replicas. This means they actually look like the real thing, so much so that all the guns come with a federally mandated orange tip. It is interesting to note that these guns also come with metal components making even the weight of the replica guns very similar to the actual gun. Plus, you can find many of the guns that you would have some interest in using, like an M16, Sniper Rifle, or an AK47. Some would say this is scary, but others (including the Airsoft enthusiast) would consider this a great way to own an arsenal that is not lethal, nor illegal for that matter.

I know the reader might be saying that as far as cost’s are concerned, “one cannot draw a conclusion on which sport out does the other,” but as we have looked into the matter deeper we have found that realistic attributes can make a big difference in what you would want to participate in. In fact it makes all the difference for me!

In this part one of The Sport of Airsoft vs. The Sport of Paintball we have concluded that that money or cost has no bearing on whether the Sport of Airsoft is better than the Sport of Paintball.

In the fast paced world of airsoft warfare, an airsoft sniper who is patient and knows his stuff can make all of the difference. But no matter how much skill and technique the airsoft sniper has acquired during his combat experiences, he is no match for an equally skilled sniper who is better equipped to handle whatever comes at him. So, how does a warfighter who is equally matched with his opponent (or the never ending front line infantry hordes) get ahead in this game of skill? The answer: Get better gear.

An airsoft sniper who knows what he is doing can greatly improve his combat performance by acquiring a stockpile of effective airsoft gear. Although it is hard to say what the most important piece of equipment for an airsoft sniper to have, it is safe to say that the airsoft sniper rifle is at the top of that list. Different airsoft snipers have different preferences when it comes to the type of rifle that they choose. Some prefer spring powered, others prefer electric powered; in the end, each sniper has to decide for himself. However, some things stay true for all rifles: The airsoft sniper rifle must be able to carry a sight, be easily concealed with a gun sleeve or some other form of camouflage, and be extremely accurate. Simply put, you cannot be a sniper if your primary weapon is a pistol. In general, most airsoft rifles with longer barrels can be used effectively in a sniping role. Once you pick your rifle, you should drill with it often to ensure that your marksmen skills stay up to par. There is no point in having a sleek, straight-shooting rifle if you can’t put the rounds on target.

Once an airsoft sniper has picked his rifle, it is time to address his set of optics. Every airsoft sniper needs to have a good pair of binoculars or a monocular. It is critical that the airsoft sniper be able to find targets at a distance without moving his rifle; needless movement could give away your position. An airsoft sniper also needs to have a good scope on his rifle. A zeroed scope can greatly improve an airsoft sniper’s performance on the battlefield. A good choice is this 4×32 Airsoft Rifle Scope from Swiss Arms. For those who play at night, some searching may be required for an effective night vision scope. Having the right visual equipment can make all the difference for an experienced airsoft marksman.

An airsoft sniper also needs to address the issue of cover. Sniper’s are famous for their use of camouflage to blend in with the landscape; a ghillie suit and rifle cover can allow you to say, “Nobody here but us trees!” without lying. A ghillie suite should be comfortable and flexible, and most of all concealing. A suite like this can make all the difference between you getting three kills and a being spotted and wiped out by an enemy squad.

Next an airsoft sniper should address his defense. Simply put, your sniper rifle is not going to do the job in close quarters combat. Although a semi-automatic pistol may be the first thing most airsoft snipers reach for, I would recommend something with a bit more…power. You should only rely on the best for your defense, and nothing can do better than a personal defense weapon (or PDW). Although slightly bigger, PDWs make up for their larger size with a great increase in power. The Echo1 M5K PDW is a great alternative to standard pistols due to its high rate of fire and larger magazine size.

Last, an airsoft sniper should address his comfort and supplies. Generally, this means buying a vest or bag that can fit under your ghillie suite or be easily hidden to stash things in. Vests offer lots of places where you can carry extra magazines, extra ammo, snacks, your cell phone (wouldn’t want the girlfriend to get worried, would we?), and assorted other accessories and necessities. Sometimes, it is possible to cover two bases, such as comfort and storage, with one package. A great example of this would be vest, such as the FIREPOWER Modular Tactical Vest. Although not readily apparent, this vest has a hydration pack that you can fill with your drink of choice (personally, I recommend not drinking alcoholic beverages while at war, it reduces your reaction time and dulls your senses) so that you never go thirsty on the field again.

There are many other available options as far as gear goes for a tactical airsoft sniper to choose from. When you perfect your kit and train hard, you will be an unstoppable force on the battlefield. And you will look nice and prepared; this is where you can use psychological warfare on your opponents. Just remember, gear cannot win the war for you, but it sure does help.

When shopping around for a new airsoft sniper rifle or AEG (automatic electric gun), usually the price is the main thing that people worry about. Unfortunately this can sometimes get you into trouble in the long run though, as many of the websites that sell airsoft guns offer very poor customer service (for example, having to wait 1 or 2 weeks before your purchase even gets shipped out to you). Also, I have heard a good many horror stories of customers purchasing defective airsoft rifles and then never even receiving a replacement gun, among other things.

Another thing to look out for with many of the online airsoft stores/websites, is inaccurate product images. For some reason it seems abnormally hard to get quality product images for many of the Chinese made airsoft rifles (especially the airsoft sniper rifles), so it is fairly common for an airsoft retailer to just post a picture of an airsoft gun that is SIMILAR to the actual airsoft gun that they are selling. Usually this isn’t that big of a deal, since most of them are practically identical anyways, but it can certainly create some confusion in some cases, especially with the airsoft rifles that have actual trademark logos on them.

The other major thing to consider is where the online airsoft store is actually located. Most of them are located in California, due to the fact that they import their products from china, and California is where the products actually get dropped off (they come via large boat). As long as the store is located in the US it doesn’t really matter all that much; what you want to look out for is a store that is actually located in China, since it will literally take WEEKS to receive any order that you purchase from them (at least in most cases).

Now, as far as which websites I recommend, I have to say that there isn’t very many. As far as lowest prices (along with pretty good service) go, I would definitely say airsplat.com is the winner there, especially when it comes to the airsoft sniper rifles. If you are looking for great prices (but possibly a bit higher than airsplat) I would go withpyramydair.com.

I have done a LOT of business with pyramyair, and they have better (and faster) customer service than airsplat, and they have a better return policy too (pyramydair offers a 30 day return policy, while airsplat only offers a 3 day return policy). Last, but not least, there is airsoftgi.com. They offers pretty good prices, combined with good service and fast shipping times as well. I also know a lot of people that have dealt with them and they all ended up very happy customers. Personally I like pyramydair and airsplat the best though, and I have by FAR done the most business with those 2 websites.

There are plenty more online airsoft stores out there, but I would use a good deal of caution when dealing with them. Like I stated above, there are a LOT of sites out there that offers some pretty horrible service, especially when it comes to the shipping time frame. In fact, I think the long shipping times is probably one of the most common complaints that I read about on the airsoft forums. My best advice would be to just do a little research about a particular retailer before you go ahead and give them your hard earned money!

My name is Matthew Betourney. I have been an airsoft consumer (and dealer) for quite a long time now, and I own my own online store, which sells many different types of high end Airsoft Sniper Rifles.
